It's Getting Colder

Well...I can't believe how this year is flying past. It's getting colder outsied here in NEO and the leaves are flying (along with the occasional snowflake.) The boys are geared up for sledding (please not anytime soon, lol.) School is going well, we're approaching the end of term and I have around a B average across the board. Not as good as I'd hoped but not terrible. I've been a little down this term and I'm not sure why. Anyway...just a little blurb for now.

Chick with Brains! (Or in other words MY GRADES ARE IN!)

Be warned this is a MAJOR TOOT!

Just one of the smart chicks!

How proud am I?! My grades are in and I managed 3 A's and 2 A-'s. My GPA for the semester is 3.862! And cummulative I've got a 3.796! That's above an A- and it's damn good enough for Case! Here's to another semester on Dean's List!!!

Photo Study (Avery)

Our project for photography back at the beginning of April was people. I set out originally to do family relationship photography of Avery and Tristan. TJ wasn't having it. He didn't like having the "big eye" pointing at him and refused to stay on the backdrop. Giving up on the drop completely I took them to the park and tried to get some snapshot asthetics of them interacting. I just couldn't bring myself to hand in 6 photos of the back of Tristan's head, lol. So the first shot here is one of the best ones from the trip to the duck pond, Avery teaching Tristan how to tear up the bread and throw it to the "quack-quacks."

The ones following are the project how it ultimately appeared. Avery's 4th birthday was looming in my mind and I decided to try my hand at a photo study to capture all his little bits and pieces. Notice the dirt under his fingernails in the one of his hands, ROFL.

35 mm Project #1

Finally...I was able to finish my first 35 mm project. Our assignment was "Light as the Subject" so this was a little bit of a stretch for me. I'm used to seeing people on the other side of the lens. I am very pleased with them, even if I do say so myself. And I'm assuming my photography teacher was pleased as well...I got an A!!!

Many thanks to Leila at RAK for her excellent help; I don't think I would have got the whole f/stop thing without'cha hun! You RAK!!

(And my apologies for the horrible scans on these...I really need to remember to scan before I do my dry-mounting, lol.)

TFL and enjoy!

Scheduling for Summer

Well...the time has come to schedule summer classes. I really wanted to get Microbiology out of the way before I start Intro to Organic/Inorganic Chem next fall. I've been pouring over the schedules and I think I will be able to pull it off and even squeeze in Anatomy/Physiology in the first summer term. The classes run for 5 weeks from May 12-June 17 and I would be in school from 8 am until 3:30 pm 5 days a week. That will be different for me and the boys...not to mention Nana. I'm hoping that she'll be up for this, she's been kinda tired lately. It's taking her a lot longer than she'd like to recover from the chemo. I think she's doing well seeing as it's only been 3 months since her last treatment. I think she's ready to be back to her usual self. And of course all this is contingent on finding the money to take the classes. I can move my aid money up from the fall/spring '07 terms, but then run the risk of not having the funding for those terms. Ahh, the life of a student, lol.
